Dear Parents,
K-4 is really doing well in Spanish.  I am teaching atraditional Spanish folk song to one of my other classes and feel that K-4 can handle the lyrics as well.  They are so receptive to learning Spanish!
1st grade is able to not only answer questions in Spanish, but ask other students questions as well.  I am so pleased.  I am thinking of putting together some hand-outs so students can review what we have done this year.  Please let me know if you are interested in receiving a hand-out.
2nd grade-  Wow!  I can't tell you how happy I am that our family tree project was so successful.  Please stop by the cafeteria to see your child's work.  The students are so positive about learning Spanish.  It is such a pleasure to teach your children.

Grade 3 presented their original books to the class. All of the books are beautiful.  I had very high expectations for this project and your children certainly met those expectations.  I will be returning the books at the end of the school year.  So many children wanted to take their book home on Monday, but I want to display them in our classroom for everyone to see.

Grades 4,5, and 6 presented their itineraries  and dialogues to the class on Monday. They were fantastic!   Students are so eager to share their work with others.  We will be presenting more dialogues in class, but there is no assigned homework for students this week.

I spoke to the students about the significance of Cinco de Mayo and how it is celebrated in Mexico and the United States.  We will be talking more about the history of Mexico next week.

Thank you for your interest in St. John's Second Language Program.

                                                                   Miss Linda
