Tuesday and Wednesday, March 29 and 30.

The K-3 children are so interested in learning Spanish!  they begin to sing the songs in Spanish that they learned as they walk into the class.  We reviewed greetings, numbers, and colors as well as body parts and questions about the location of objects in the classroom.  I added several colors to the basic colors that the children know.  They are also becoming aware of grammatical structures through the use of the Natural Language Approach that I use with my preschool and kindergarten classes.  This approach is similar to the way children learn their first language.

Grade 6  Class did not meet due to an assembly.  We will rewrite the autobiographies the students wrote several weeks ago  I am missing several autobiographies so students  who did not hand in theirs should have the worksheet completed for next Wednesday.  If your child lost the worksheet, please contact me so I can provide him/ her with another one on Monday.  There is another assignment due as well from two weeks ago--A list of things the student likes and doesn't like.*  This is in Spanish, of course.  There should be at least thirty of each.  Thirty things liked and thirty things not liked.  Me gustan  is I like.  No me gustan is I don't like.

Grade 5  Students who had handed in their autobiography received a corrected copy to rewrite.  I am so proud of the students who did their homework.  Next week, the students who completed both assignments will share their likes and dislikes on a huge mural they will prepare in class. I will work with those students who did not complete the autobiography while the other group work on the mural.  Homework is a very important part of learning. Please contact me if you have any questions about the homework.  There is no new assignment for next week.  You can reach me at 601-428-1704.  I welcome calls from you about your child's progress in Spanish.

                                                  Have a great weekend.

                                                      Miss Linda

* All assignments were due last week on Wednesday.  There was NO homework over the Easter holiday.
