Wednesday, December 9th.

Grades 5 and 6 shared their homework assignment from last week.  Each student who came to class with their homework had the opportunity to read and perfect their pronunciation of Spanish by sharing their original sentences.  Twenty sentences were required, but three 5th graders wrote many many more sentences. i am so proud of them.

6th Grade:  Sixth graders who came to class with their homework assignment made a bilingual book to share with a younger sibling , or other family member. Students then read the book to the class in order to practice their presentation.  Please ask you child to share the book with you.  If your child does not have the book, they did not make one.  Those students who did not complete homework worked on the missed assignment and also have an additional homework assignment which is due next week.  The homework for ONLY those students who did not turn in homework on Wednesday is:
Write five sentences with each of the following subjects and verb forms:  Yo tengo, Tu tienes, el or ella tiene, nosotros tenemos, ellos or ellas tienen.  This means, I have, you have, he, or she has, we have, they have.  ALL STUDENTS  IN THE GROUP WHO DID NOT MAKE A BILINGUAL BOOK DURING CLASS WORKED WITH ME ON THIS AND BEGAN THE ASSIGNMENT BEFORE LEAVING CLASS. If you unsure if your child needs to do this missing assignment and the newly assigned homework, please do not hesitate to contact me.  Students  were given lists of nouns to use in the creation of their sentences.  There is NO homework for students who handed in their homework from last week.

5th Grade:  Miss Tuckers's class shared their homework.  They worked on adding new subjects to the verb, "tener."  All students completed their work in class and have no new homework assignment.

Miss Lisa's 5th Grade:  Most students finished their work, but several students have a few sentences to complete for next week.  They need to write five sentences each with Tu tienes________(a noun in Spanish.)  Also:  Nosotros tenemos_______(noun in Spanish),  and Ellos or Ellas tienen______(noun).  Students have picture dictionaires and language vocabulary cards to assist them with the remaining sentences.

Have a great weekend. Thank you for your interest and support in SJDS's  Spanish  Language Program.

                                                      Miss Linda

                                                    Merry Christmas!
