Monday, December 7

Grades K-4   Students reviewed all songs and poems.  We played a game to learn holiday vocabulary.  I was very pleased with the children's reciting of the days of the week and months in Spanish.  Next week, we will sing some Christmas songs in Spanish. The children heard the story, LLego la Navidad.  Christmas is Here.

K-5  We reviewed questions.  The children know so many expressions in Spanish! We also reviewed weather terms, days of the week, months, and new holiday vocabulary.  WE played a game to introduce new vocabulary.  Children heard a Christmas story.  They really enjoyed the story in Spanish about Papa Noel, Father Christmas.

Grade 1  Students reviewed the dialogue about the playground.  Everyone had a chance to recite their lines in a small group.  Next week, I will prepare a new dialogue for the class.  They really like the dialogues.  If you would like your child to bring a copy of the dialogue home, please let me know. You can send me a text at 626-833-0417.

Grade 2  Second grade read the little bilingual books they made last week.  Ech child had a chance to read the story. I sent the books home so you can ask your child to share it with you.  Next week, children will prepare a new book to take home.  The beauty of these books is that there is an English translation for you.

Grade 3  We corrected the homework.  Then we made a bilingual book.  Your child took the book home to read with you.  There is no homework.

Grade 4  We corrected the homework.  Children who did not do the assignment have a chance to hand it in next week with this week's homework.  This week, children will write a sentence with the subject:  Nosotros and the verb tenemos.  This means We have.  EX:  Nosotros tenemos los libros.  They should also use Ellos/ Ellas  They.  Ellos tienen las manzanas.  Students have cards they can use to supply the noun.

Please contact me if you have questions.
