Grade 2 had the opportunity to make a miniature beach garden with Cheli Cuevas, creator of Gild the Garden, a Youtube gardening show. The lesson was done in Spanish with English language support when necessary. I hope you are enjoying your child's creation! Cheli recommended watering the garden once a week.
Grade 3 took a dictation exam and worked on an activity sheet based on the correct form of adjectives. They were asked to write at least eight more sentences describing foods using color words in Spanish. There are eight models for the students to follow on the activity sheet they completed in class with me. Students may write more than eight if they wish. We will discuss the sentences next week. It is a homework assignment.
Grade 4 also completed a worksheet based on adjectives that describe foods. They completed the sheet in class and need to write eight more sentences on their own for homework. Students may write more sentences if they wish.
Please call me if you have any questions. 601-428-1704. Students should have brought the homework sheet home today with their classroom homework folder.
I will notify you by telephone if your child does not complete homework assignments. The completion of homework is part of your child's grade.
K-4 and K-5 sang their new songs in Spanish and learned three weather expressions in Spanish. They also heard a story in Spanish to develop their listening skills. Students also reviewed responding in Spanish to basic questions. I am so proud of your children. They learn new skills quickly.
Grade 1 reviewed days of the week and months of the year. Many of the children are able to read the months and days in Spanish! They are very eager to respond to questions in Spanish as well.
Thank you for your continued support and interest in our Spanish Language Program at SJDS.
